Opening Remarks and Course Overview
The certification and training process in robotic surgery.
Operation and components of the robotic platform.
Surgeon’s console, patient cart, and tower: overview
Using the master controls, controlling the camera, and controlling the instruments:
Switching arms
Port clutch and instrument clutch, remote center
Docking, positioning the camera arm and mounting the cannulas, undocking.
Insertion and removal of the camera and instruments + guided insertion
Ergonomic control: repositioning the master controls
Camera control, focus, zoom, white balance, 3D calibration, and more
Communication among team members
Response to emergencies and robotic platform malfunctions.
