It is with great pleasure that the Brazilian Society of Head and Neck Surgery (SBCCP), in partnership with the Falke Institute, announces its certification course in robotic surgery designed specifically for head and neck surgeons. This course enables surgeons to become certified in robotic surgery within Brazil, something that was previously impossible. With this course—which corresponds to the initial stage of certification, known as the theoretical-practical or preclinical phase—the SBCCP aims to make this technology more accessible, so that its members can, at the very least, become familiar with it and evaluate its applications in their daily practice. It consists of fundamental basic modules, specialty-specific modules, simulator practice, annotated videos, and practice on an inanimate model, and serves as a prerequisite for surgeons to advance to the surgical stage, during which they will be mentored by an SBCCP robotic surgery tutor. At the end of this course, if the surgeon meets the minimum performance requirements in all stages, they will receive provisional certification in robotic head and neck surgery, with a certificate issued by the SBCCP, as well as the opportunity to advance to the surgical stage, which leads to definitive certification, with a certificate issued jointly by the SBCCP and the AMB.
